Who We Are

INTRODUCTION

Lough Ree Access For All Clg is a Registered Charity.

The main object for which the company is established is the provision of important social and recreational services to people with disabilities in the Lough Ree district, Lanesborough, Ballyleague and surrounding areas. This will be done by providing boat trips on a bespoke wheelchair accessible passenger vessel to people with a physical or intellectual disability, elderly persons or those with mobility difficulties or suffering from dementia.

OUR CHARITABLE PURPOSE

Any other Purpose that is of benefit to the community. The integration of those who are disadvantaged and the promotion of their full participation in society

LRAFA Clg is in full compliance with Charities SORP – the Charities Governance Code Statement of Recommended Practice that sets out how charities should prepare their annual accounts and report on their finances.

A small motorboat with a red canopy floats on a calm lake surrounded by tall reeds and lily pads. A person in a hat is seated inside, steering the boat. A lush, green forest is visible in the background under a cloudy sky.

The core principle of the Lough Ree Access For All boat and lake centre is to eliminate this segregation in so far as is humanly possible. The provision in the Lough Ree Lake Access for All water-based facility of an integrated ‘sporting’ experience for people with disabilities is a step in the right direction. Activities such as angling will be available on our boat.

PARTNERS & SPONSORS

People with disabilities have the same needs for recreation and leisure as people without disabilities.

However, they sometimes access more structured leisure activities within disability organisation’s and service providers, thereby reinforcing their segregation from community and friends on occasions.

OUR IMPACT

Giving back to nature and preserving is at the forefront of everything we do.
